| Going well until the rain came! by Jase | A bitterly cold day greeted us at the fortress today, what a crap summer its been! We won the toss and decided to bat, which we usually dont do, but thought a change was needed.
Tried Cam at the top of the order for a change (as I think he was sick of #11 for the past 3 seasons) and what a great knock he played. A mixture of pushing the gaps for singles, nice 4's trough the covers and some bold hitting towards the end, he amased a very good 78*. Grant also chipped in with a whirlwind 30 stroking some nice shots through the covers. I then came in and decided that since it was raining fairly hard that Id make the most of it, and try to wack anything I could, with good success I also earned a wee 33*.
It was a shame the rain got heavier, as we were 179/4 at the 35 over mark, we were looking odds on for 200-210! hats cricket though! |
